The Dundalk Democrat and People’s Journal 14 June 1890

"St. Joseph’s New Church, Dundalk

The following is a list of the principal subscribers to the New Church of the Redemptorist Fathers, Dundalk.

Many whose names are not here given contributed 5s and smaller sums.

A few of those whose names appear, not having yet handed in their subscriptions would greatly oblige by kindly doing so as soon as possible.

Any mistakes or omissions, if made known, would be gladly rectified.

The members of the Redemptorist Community of St. Joseph’s return their sincerest thanks to those gentleman of Dundalk who formed themselves into the acting committee, and organised and made the collections; and also to all their other good friends whose generous contributions towards the new church, both before and on the day of the laying of the foundation stone, amount to the magnificent sum of one thousand pounds: -"

[Entries marked (1) were collected in St. Patrick’s Church at High Mass on the 01 June 1890; entries marked (2) are from a supplementary list published in the Dundalk Democrat on 21 June 1890, which included a number of corrections to the previous list; items marked (3) are from an additional list of those omitted from previous lists and appeared in the Dundalk Democrat 16 August 1890]
